HC issues bailable warrants against CE PDD

JAMMU, Dec 6: High Court today issued bailable warrants against Chief Engineer, Power Development Department (PDD) Ashwani Kumar Gupta.
In a writ petition filed by Jamit Ram Parihar, a resident of Lower Muthi, the High Court vide its order dated November 11, 2016 had noticed with displeasure that the official respondents in their reply have concealed the real picture and projected a story based on untrue facts.
“By concealing the true picture and pleading untrue facts, the Chief Engineer besides attempting to mislead this court has undermined the majesty of law as also the attribute of the high position held by him”, the High Court had stated in its earlier order.
Vide its earlier order, the High Court had also quashed the impugned transfer order and Registrar Judicial was directed to draw contempt proceedings (Robkar) against the Chief Engineer.
Consequently, as per the direction of the High Court Robkar has been framed against Ashwani Gupta, Chief Engineer, Electric, M&RE Wing, Jammu to show cause as to why he be not proceeded against for contempt of court committed by him by concealing the true picture.
Now, Justice Alok Aradhe has issued bailable warrants against Chief Engineer PDD to the tune of Rs 20,0000.
