HC issues notice to DGP, others

JAMMU, Feb 19: High Court today issued notice to State through Commissioner Secretary, Home, DGP, IGP Jammu Division and others in an application filed by Nand Kishore Sharma, brother of BJP MLA from Nagrota in the alleged murder of contractor Raj Singh, seeking permission for arraying him as party respondents.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Veenu Gupta for the petitioner, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat issued notice to State and others with the directions to file objections within two weeks.
In the petition filed by father of deceased contractor, it has been submitted that on April 13, 1995 Jugal Kishore, Nand Kishore, Naresh Kumar and Ganesh Kumar, sons of Bal Krishan had killed his son over some railway line contracts.
The petitioner has further submitted that investigation in the case has not been conducted properly and effectively for more than 12 years and the facts and circumstances of the case speak volume about the undue influence being exercised by MLA Jugal Kishore and his brothers.
“Even the Investigating Officer is not implementing the orders passed by the Magistrate from time to time as such CBI enquiry should be ordered in the case”, the petitioner said.
