HC issues notice to Govt, JK Bank Chairman

SRINAGAR, Apr 1: High Court today issued notices to the Government and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Bank to file their objections to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking direction from court for bringing semi-Government bodies to under RTI Act.
The notice has been issued to Chief Secretary, Secretary to State Information Commission, Registrar General of the High Court and Chairman JK Bank.
The PIL submitted by advocate Firdous Ahmad Parrey seeks that every department must disclose information voluntarily within 120 days under RTI Act 2009 to curb the corruption menace in the State.
