HC lays down procedure for handling complaints

JAMMU, Apr 18: State High Court has laid down procedure for handling complaints received against members of the subordinate judiciary.
According to the circular issued by Registrar General Sanjay Dhar, the complaint making allegations against members of the subordinate judiciary of the State should not be entertained and no action should be taken unless it is accompanied by a duly sworn affidavit and/or verifiable material to substantiate the allegations.
“If action on such complaint meeting the requirement is deemed necessary, authenticity of the complaint should be duly ascertained and further steps thereon should be taken only after satisfaction of the competent authority designated by the Chief Justice”, the circular said, adding “if the requirements are not complied with the complaint should be filed/lodged without taking any steps thereon”.
