Srinagar, Dec 14: High Court has quashed various detention orders passed under Public Safety Act by various District Magistrates and directed the authorities to set the detenues free from the custody.
Justice Rashid Ali Dar while hearing separate Heabus Corpus petitions challenging therein the detention orders passed by the District Magistrates of different districts, quashed these orders and directed the authorities to set the detenues free.
Court quashed the PSAs of Abdul Hamid Parray, Firdous Ahmad Parray, Ashiq Hussain Ganaie, Mehraj-ud-din Malik, Firdous Amad Wani and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, all are lodged in Kote Bhalwal Jail, Jammu under PSA passed by District Magistrate Bandipora and District Magistrate Baramulla.
Court in view of the facts of these cases and the law laid down by the Supreme Court said, the orders of detention do not sustain, therefore, and having regard to the pleadings orders of detention impugned are quashed.
