HC quashes PSA of alleged ISI agent

JAMMU, Apr 5: State High Court has quashed the detention order of one Zahid Latif allegedly involved in acquisition, possession, carriage and circulation of hawala money funded by Pakistan’s intelligence agency into the state to fund the terrorists’ organizations.
After hearing Advocate Piyush Gupta appearing for the detenue whereas Deputy AG ZS Wattali for the State, Justice Tashi Rabstan observed, “the omission of the detaining authority for not properly applying the application of mind in the ground of detention and not supplying the copy of detention order, deprived the detenue of his right of making an effective representation against the detention order”.
Referring a judgment of the State High Court titled Altaf Hussain Mir versus State of J&K, Justice Rabstan quashed the order passed by District Magistrate Jammu.
