Srinagar, May 15: High Court accorded sanction for financial assistance to the advocates recommended by the district level and High Court level Committees.
The fund of Rs one crore has been provided by the Government of Union Territory of J&K for grant of assistance to the advocates practicing in various courts. Rs 3000 has been sanctioned to each advocate as identified by the District and High Court level Committees.
The assistance has been provided to meet their financial hardships on account of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, except to those who have shown income in their application forms and also to those who have more than five years standing but have not shown any case filed or appear in last three years before the court.
“The financial assistance of Rs 3000 shall be directly transferred into the account number of the advocate given by him or her in the application for after verifying the account numbers and telephone numbers from the concerned District Judges and Registrar Judicial of High Court wings of Jammu and Srinagar”, reads the order of Registrar General of High Court.
