Srinagar, July 29: The High Court today sought personal appearance of officials of various departments in different contempt proceedings as the departments have failed to implement various court orders.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey while dealing with various contempt proceedings seeking implementation of court orders and judgments sought personal appearance of high ranking official of the Revenue Department.
“…further four weeks’ time to file the statement of facts, failing which Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department shall appear in person”, Justice Magrey directed.
Hearing another contempt petition, Court recorded that despite clearance from the Enquiry Committee constituted for the purpose, the Respondent-Chief Education Officer, Budgam has not reported compliance as directed by this Court, instead, has made observations contrary to the recommendations of the Enquiry Committee.
“Let the respondent-Chief Education Officer, Budgam appear in person before the court on the next date of hearing to explain as to what steps he has taken with regard to the recommendations of the Enquiry Committee so as to ensure compliance of the Order passed by the court”, Justice Magrey directed.
“Despite opportunity, respondents have failed to file compliance, leaving no other option for the court but to seek personal appearance of Administrator of the Municipal Council, Anantnag, before the court on the next date of hearing”, Justice Magrey directed in another contempt petition.
Court also directed for personal appearance of Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Anantnag and instructed the Registry to forthwith convey the Order to Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Anantnag.
In another contempt petition the court observed that the statement of facts and compliance report was not filed which prompted the court to direct the Director, Sericulture Development Department, Kashmir, Srinagar for personal appearance before the court on the next date of hearing. “Registry to convey this order to Director, Sericulture Development Department, Kashmir, Srinagar, for compliance”, read the order.
