HC seeks report from DC on bungling in selection of Lab Techs

Srinagar, Jan 19: High Court has sought enquiry report from Deputy Commissioner Kupwara into the alleged bungling of selection Lab Technician posts in the district.
Justice Sanjay Dhar has issued the direction the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for submitting the enquiry report of the selection made on the posts of Lab Technicians in the district and meantime kept the appointment and selection of these posts subject outcome of the writ petition.
The select list for the posts in question was issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara on December 31, 2020. The Court observed that the authorities while making selection have not taken into account the points obtained by the aggrieved candidates in academic and technical qualification.
Court said the criteria was prescribed in the advertisement notice. The petitioners counsel submitted that the officials also did not publish the marks obtained by the short listed candidates in screening test.
Court has also issued notice to the authorities for filing of reply into the plea of aggrieved candidates by next date of hearing. Court kept the appointment of the selected candidates subject to outcome of petition.
The enquiry was conducted by the DC concerned after the representation was submitted before him alleging therein bungling while selection was made on the posts in question. DC concerned in this connection has been directed to place on record the result of the said enquiry as conducted by him before the court.
