JAMMU, Oct 22: High Court today stayed the allotment of construction of Sulabh Toilets made by the Jammu Development Authority.
The stay was granted in a petition filed by Saral Sugam Sewa Society challenging the allotment of construction of Sulabh Toilet by JDA to the Sulabh International Social Service Organization without any competition in a tendering process.
“It is contended inter alia that the State and/or its agencies/ instrumentalities cannot give largesse to any person”, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal said after hearing both the sides, adding “it has been alleged that allotment of construction work to respondent is actuated with ulterior and malafide consideration”.
Accordingly, High Court issued notice to JDA and others with the directions to file objections and till next date before the bench, impugned allotment orders dated 08.09.2016, 20.06.2016 & 20.05.2016 issued by JDA in favour of private respondent were stayed.
