JAMMU, Apr 9: High Court today stayed the order of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu whereby direction was issued for registration of FIR against Principal of Government Medical College Jammu.
The order of the CJM was challenged by Principal Dr Sunanda Raina on various grounds and after hearing Senior Advocate PN Raina with Advocates JA Hamal and Garima Gupta for the petitioner whereas Senior AAG Amit Gupta for the State, Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta stayed the order of CJM.
While staying the order, Justice Sanjay Gupta observed, “it is evident that the Preliminary Verification (PV) No 84/2018 is already pending before the Crime Branch with regard to same facts and circumstances”. Accordingly, High Court directed Crime Branch to complete the PV within one month and file status report.
