JAMMU, June 12: State High Court has stayed the promotion of three Superintending Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Department.
These three SEs namely Mohd Hanief Lone, Pran Nath and Abdul Wahid were among seven promoted as Chief Engineers in the Department vide Order No.151-PW(Hyd) of 2013 dated June 3, 2013.
The order was challenged in the High Court by Fida Mohammad Farooqi, Imtiyaz Ahmed Dhar and Bansi Lal Saproo on the ground that it was issued in violation of earlier order of the High Court dated September 22, 2012 whereby the Court had restrained the Government from affecting promotions of the Executive Engineers and SEs under reserved category.
After hearing the counsel for the petitioners and going through the petition, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey issued notice to the respondents and in the meanwhile ordered that the impugned order shall remain stayed in respect of three private respondents till further orders.
