JAMMU, Aug 13: High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has upheld the detention order passed by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir against member of drug cartel Bashir Ahmad Ganaie.
“The UT of J&K in their counter affidavit, have contended that the detenue is clandestinely dealing in illegal business of narcotics and in order to carry out this illegal trade, he is exploiting the immature minds of the younger generation”, Justice Sanjay Dhar said, adding “the activities of the petitioner have posed a serious threat to the health and welfare of the people of the area”.
“This court do not find any ground to interfere in the impugned order of detention. The petition lacks merit and is dismissed accordingly”, read the order.
