HC views seriously JOs leaving station without permission

JAMMU, Sept 13: Taking serious note of some Judicial Officers leaving the station without prior permission and have even managed the Government accommodation at Srinagar and Jammu despite being posted in other districts, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued certain directions for strict compliance by the Judicial Officers of all the ranks.

Despite repeated circulars issued from time to time carrying the directions that no Judicial Officer shall leave the station without seeking proper permission from the competent authority, it has been observed that some of the Judicial Officers leave the station without proper permission and some have even managed the Government accommodation at Srinagar/Jammu despite being posted in other districts in violation of the circular issued by the High Court, read an order issued by Registrar General Shahzad Azeem.
Taking serious note of this, the Chief Justice (Acting) has issued certain directions for strict compliance by the Judicial Officers of all the ranks. They have been asked to strictly adhere to the circulars issued on the subject and shall not leave the station without prior permission of the competent authority.
All the Principal District and Sessions Judges of the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh have been directed to ensure that all the Judicial Officers posted in their respective jurisdiction get the accommodation within their respective districts commensurate to their status and for this purpose they are permitted to take up the matter with the district administration.
Further, all the Principal District and Sessions Judges of UTs of J&K and Ladakh have been asked to submit a report regarding existing accommodation of the Judicial Officers in their respective districts. They have been told to submit the information within two working days.
