HC’s directive to State on opening of Trauma Centre

JAMMU, Nov 4: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Bhagwati Parshad and others for establishment of Trauma Centre at Kathanu opposite ITI Sunderbani, State High Court has issued notice to Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Director Health Services Jammu, CMO Rajouri and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri returnable within four weeks.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Parimoksh Seth appearing for the PIL, High Court observed, “it has been submitted by the petitioners that land measuring 34 kanals, which was previously under the occupation of Industries Department, is at present in the possession of Police Department”, adding “it has further been submitted that this land is ideal location for establishment of Trauma Centre, which has been sanctioned for the area”.
The petitioners have sought directions to the respondents for taking immediate steps for the establishment of Trauma Centre so that people of Sunderbani tehsil in particular and Rajouri district in general can get specialized treatment at their door steps.
