Headless Archives Department

Sir,
Refer news item, “Headless Archives, Archaeology Department totally defunct’ DE Apr 28, 2018.
One wonders why Government remains a mute spectator when its comes to protection of tangible, and intangible cultural heritage of the State.
While going through the contents of the said news, the connossieuers of art and culture  may feel dismayed over the neglect of Department of Archives, Archaeology, Museums, Antiquities and Records which is quite important for upkeep of cultural heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors whether in Jammu, Kashmir or Ladakh.
All three divisions have inherited rich cultural heritage which is to be preserved to be passed on to our posterity to acquaint them of the wisdom accumulated by our ancestors over centuries together. In case we do not protect this wealth, we will be doing a  great injustice with our coming generation. They will lose contact with the past, and will feel lost in wilderness.
So it will be in the interest of our coming generations that the Government make this department quite functional by filling all the vacant posts, and equips it will latest infrastructure to carry on the business.
Yours etc….
