JAMMU, Sept 30: Health Capsule, the J&K’s first health magazine will be launched during the coming Navratras here.
This was announced by Dr Sidharth Verma, Managing Editor of the Magazine while talking to reporters along with Amit Singh, Marketing Manager of the Magazine its Media Manager, Vikram Sharma and Anil Gupta Design Consultant.
Dr Verma said explaining the concept of health education through the print and electronic media has become essential for the benefit of the masses in this modern age when life has become busy and people are confronted with many health related problems due to life style disorders.
Citing the example of developed countries, which have specialized health education trainers, he said these trainers educate the general public how to protect themselves from the deadly diseases.
Highlighting the activities of last three months since the magazine was launched on website, he said this included organizing of various free camps, health education activities, surveys and health education network for the benefit of general public of the State.
He said the brochure of the magazine won the seventh national award for excellence in printing at New Delhi recently. The Health Capsule brochure was the sole entry from J&K in Inter Print Expo 2012 held at Pragti Maidan, New Delhi from September 14 to 16, he added.
Amit Singh informed that these were the activities that have set the magazine a class apart, and it is fulfilling its mission of providing platform for health promotion and disease prevention at a primordial stage for the benefit of the mankind.
He also briefed about the future events like school, college education programmes and train the trainer initiative of the magazine in the coming months in the State.
