Sir,
The first endeavour of every civilized society is to keep its surroundings, roads, lanes, drains etc. clean so that there could be no possibility of out breaking of some disease or contracting of physical problems. It is a matter of concern that the Jammu city which was considered to be comparatively neat and clean is fast emerging as a city of garbage and dirt. Barring some posh colonies, the insanitary condition is horrifying. The situation has worsened because of digging of roads and lanes for sewerage pipes and water pipes and leaving them mostly unattended for repairs. A torrential rain exposes the myth o the JM authorities as the chocked drains throw on the streets all filth, garbage, polythene bags and what not. It becomes very difficult to pass through such streets and lanes. Most of the colonies are not provided with dust/garbage, polythene bags and what not. It becomes very difficult to pass through such streets and lanes. Most of the colonies are not provided with dust/garbage bins and the household disposables are seen strewn on the lanes itself. Even on the busy roads, heaps of garbage can be seen with a chocking stench. This very badly tells upon the health of people especially the children. There could take place even epidemics in the coming sultry, humid rainy season. Shall the concerned authorities wake up and act seeking the cooperation of the general public as well?
Yours etc….
