Heavy rains lash Kashmir, Sgr roads flooded

SRINAGAR, July 26: Heavy rains lashed parts of Kashmir including Srinagar tonight inundating several city roads.
The heavy rains and hail storm was reported from Baramulla, Sopore, Bandipora while heavy rains lashed Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar. The hails led to damage to the apple and other fruit crops.
Srinagar roads including in Lal Chowk area and recently refurbished Polo View market were flooded with rain water. There were several inches of waterlogging in the market.
The Regal Chowk, Lal Chowk, TRC, Jehangir Chowk and roads in several other areas were flooded with rain water and commuters were finding it difficult to drive through the water logged roads .
A Meteorological Department official, this evening, shortly before heavy rains issued a warning of heavy showers in parts of North Kashmir and central Kashmir.
“Heavy Rain with thunder/lightning most likely to occur over Badgam, Bandipore, Baramulla, Uri, Gulmarg, Sopore, Wular Lake, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Srinagar in next 3 hours. People are advised to Check for traffic congestion on your route before journey,” MeT office said.
