Heavy to very heavy rain-snow warning in J&K from tomorrow

SRINAGAR : The Indian Meteorological department  has issued a warning for rather heavy to very heavy rain or snow in the Jammu and Kashmir for two days from tomorrow.    A Met department spokesperson said here this afternoon that a fresh moderate Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to hit the region by this evening.
Because of this system, there could be light rain or snow  at isolated places in the Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
He said there could be fairly wide spread rain or snow on March 15 and 16 and will decrease thereafter.    However, he warned of rather heavy to very heavy rain or  snow at a few places during this period in the Kashmir valley adding hailstorm may occure at isolated places in plains of Jammu region.
He said there could be rain or snow tomorrow in Srinagar with the result mercury will drop again below normal.    Rain or thundershowers could occur at Jammu tomorrow when the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 18 degrees and 12 degree, respectively.
At Leh, the sky would remain generally cloudy tomorrow when the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 5 degree and minus 5 degrees respectively.
