SRINAGAR, Jan 15: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal today urged the general public to assist the police in creating a drug-free society.
He made the appeal during a police-community partnership group meeting with residents of the far-flung areas of Kund at Waltengoo.
While patiently listening to the grievances of the attendees, SSP Kulgam assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed on a priority basis and every possible help would be provided to the people of the area.
He also promised to take up issues related to civil administration with the concerned departments for their prompt redressal.
SSP appealed to the participants to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and in working towards a drug-free society.
The SSP was accompanied by ASP NHW Qazigund Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, SDPO Qazigund, and SHO Kund, who received a warm welcome from the residents of Kund village.
During the interaction, participants raised various issues of public importance and praised the unwavering efforts for better policing under the leadership of SSP Kulgam, especially his cooperative approach towards the general public.
The locals of the area called for concrete steps and proper counselling for unemployed youth.
The meeting was attended by people from across the Kund area, including respected citizens, DDC Kund Sheikh Gulzar, members of Auqaf committees, chowkidars, traders’ federations, and various market associations.
