JAMMU, Apr 14: Helpline Humanity organised a function here, today to present awards of excellence to the volunteers for the services rendered by them to the people during the COVID -19 pandemic.
Moti Kaul a prominent Kashmiri Pandit leader was the chief guest on the occasion while Swami Kumar Ji, Swami Sudershan Ji and Anil Bhat Bureau Chief PTI were the special guests.
The welcome address was read by Anil Bhat who also highlighted the activities of Helpline Humanity and its role during last 30 years for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandit students in exile. He said Helpline Humanity through Saraswati Pustakaalya , a library cum book bank has come to rescue of student community by providing them books , coaching, career counseling, Wi-Fi and study centre to them. Besides, helping hundreds of patients during COVID pandemic.
On the occasion a special award was given to Ashutosh Raina of Kashmiri Pandit Australia (KPA). Moti Kaul in his address said that organisers and volunteers of different entities stood up to the occasion and set the example for future generations to follow . He urged the people to help the organisations like Helpline Humanity which has sustained for last 30 years despite all odds.
He said though the organisation helped the victims of genocide for three decades but failed to get any support or help from Government. He said all KP organisations deserve credit who worked for the welfare of the community in exile.
The vote of thanks was proposed by M K Bhat president Helpline Humanity while programme was conducted by Kusum Tickoo. It was coordinated by B L Jallali, M K Bhat, Bittu Ji Bhat , Satish Pandita and others. A K Raina former Director Education and KP leader, Virender Rawal and other dignitaries also attended the function.
