Heritage education awareness workshop organised

JAMMU, Aug 7: A 2-day heritage education awareness workshop was organized by INTACH Jammu Chapter and Heritage Education in collaboration with Common Services INTACH Delhi for 50 teachers of Government Schools of district Reasi.
The workshop was attended by 35 Government school teachers to enhance their knowledge about heritage which will enable them to develop interest for things of heritage importance among the students.
During the event, the trainees were exposed to local heritage of Reasi and Jammu and were asked to open heritage clubs in their schools. The clubs will help raise massive awareness among the people about heritage of the State thus inspiring them to conserve the same for generations to come.
Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra, Dr M K Bhandari was the chief guest on the inaugural session which was attended by the President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra, Kuldeep Wahi, Vice President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir, Principals of various schools, representatives of hospitality Katra, senior citizens of Katra, District Planning Education Officer, members of INTACH and officers of Shrine Board.
Technical sessions were conducted by Director HECS INTACH New Delhi, Poornima Dutt alongwith Local Resource Persons, Moby Zachariah, Head Master, Gopal Krishan, Director Centre of Muesology, Jammu University, Prof Poonam Chowdhary.
Convenor INTACH Chapter Jammu S M Sahni alongwith other executive members Sardari Lal Dubey, Rakesh Wazir, Imran Chowdhary, Jr Manager Spiritual Growth Centre Katra organized the workshop.
