UDHAMPUR, May 17: In continuation of drive against narcotic and psychotropic substances, Udhampur Police today seized 7 grams heroin from two drug peddlers while 4.6 kg poppy straw was seized from a bus a Chenani.
Heroin was recovered from Ajay Singh, residing near MH Chowk, Udhampur and Mohinder Singh, residing near Ice Factory, Udhampur, who were arrested at Shiv Nagar.
According to SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey, a police party led by SHO Udhampur, Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Dr Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl SP Udhampur, arrested the accused at Shiv Nagar during patrolling.
In this connection, a case FIR number 197/2020, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up.
Meanwhile, in another success, Police party of Chenani Police Station arrested a bus driver and recovered 4.6 kg poppy straw from the vehicle.
The Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Pushpinder Singh, under the supervision of Ahmed Shaafi Zargar, SDPO Chenani, intercepted the bus (JK02BN-9477) during a naka at Motorshed, National Highway, Chenani.
During checking, 4.6 kg poppy husk was recovered from the vehicle. The accused bus driver, namely Rakesh Kumar, son of Bal Krishan of Garhi, Udhampur, was arrested on the spot and recovered poppy husk was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 66/2020, under section 8/15, NDPS Act has been registered at PS Chenani and further investigation of the case is going on.
