Heroin recovered, one arrested

JAMMU, May 21: Jhajjar Kotli, Arnia and Bishnah Police recovered 140 grams heroin and arrested a drug peddler.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh laid a naka near Suketar and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 100 grams of heroin from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Wazir Ahmed, son of Deeli, a resident of Churta Tehsil Dansal District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 79/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered against the arrested person at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Arnia led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan along with SHO Arnia Inspector Harjeet Singh in presence of Area Magistrate raided a house and seized illegal drugs viz weighing machine, Indian currency amounting Rs 19350, silver foils and a bike.
Taking a lead from the raid a naka was established at Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh Chib and recovered 25 grams heroin like substance.
Subsequently, a case under FIR Number 41/2021 under Section 8/21/25/27 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Arnia and investigation was set into motion to find out the forward and backward channel.
It is pertinent to mention that Police in Sub Division RS Pura last week destroyed around 3000 litres of illegal liquor and lodged various FIRs.
