Heroin worth crores recovered by ANTF

SHOPIAN, Mar 10: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police has seized heroin worth crores from Shopian District of Kashmir.
An ANTF spokesperson said that information was received that two drug peddlers Talib Hussain Seer and Mohammad Azim seer residents of Amshipora, Shopian were transporting heroin on a motorcycle (DL5SAP-3926) to sell it to unknown drug peddlers at Vehil, Shopian.
On this, he said, Police Station ANTF Kashmir registered a case FIR number 01/2024 Under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act and accordingly a team of ANTF led by DySP Nissar Bakshi under the overall supervision of SSP ANTF Raj Kumar swung into action.
On reaching Vehil, Shopian, he added that the two drug peddlers were arrested and heroin weighing 500 gram was recovered from their possession in the presence of executive magistrate.
The consignment was concealed underneath the seat of the motorcycle, he said.
The ANTF has started further investigation into the case.
