HHJ, J&K Police organise Drug Awareness Programme

JAMMU, Dec 10: Aimed to educate students and the community about the devastating impact of drug abuse a Drug Awareness Programme was held here today.
The programme was organised by Helping Hands Jammu (HHJ) in collaboration with J&K Police.
On the occasion, Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu Zone was Chief Guest, while Sarah Rizvi, DIG IRP Range Jammu and Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG Jammu Kathua Range were the guests of honour.
Joginder Singh, Suram Singh, Commandant JKAP-8th Bn, Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP, SO to DIG Jammu Range, Faisal Qureshi, SSP Traffic City Jammu and Irshad Ahmad Rather, SP Headquarters were the special guests.
Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu Zone, delivered an impressive message highlighting the urgent need to address the drug menace.
He stated, “Drug addiction is a threat to our society in general and youth in particular. It is imperative that we should work together and collectively to uproot this evil through awareness, education and enforcement, we can ensure a drug-free tomorrow.”
Founder of HHJ, Sourav Sharma, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, saying, “Our team is committed in organizing more events like this because it is crucial to educate children about the consequences of drugs. With the support of J&K Police and society at large, we will continue to pull our youth out of the clutches of drug abuse.”
A special guest, Dr. Rahul Mohtra, (Diabetes Physician, Men’s Health Consultant and Medical Educator), also addressed the students, providing insightful information about the harmful effects of drugs on physical and mental health.
The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony where students and attendees pledged to stay away from drugs and spread awareness about its harmful effects.
