Hideout busted in Kishtwar, RPG shells, UBGL grenades recovered

   JAMMU, Aug 3: Security forces today busted a hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition including RPG shells and UBGL grenades in a remote belt of mountainous Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Police and Security Forces achieved major success today by recovering a large quantity of Arms and ammunition from the terrorist hideout during a joint search operation in  the Shree forest area in Chatroo area of Kishtwar during wee hours,” official spokesman here said.

Reports revealed that on specific information Police in association with 11 Rashtriya Rifle launched a joint search operation in the Shree forest area and busted a hideout used by terrorists and recovered huge cache of Arms, Ammunition and explosives.

The recovery included one Round live 7.62 mm, 943 numbers of 7.1, UBGL throwers, RPG shell, 18 AGS grenades, IED charge sticks, IED switch control devices, Empty Magazine of Ak-47, IED Batteries, IED switches, one Empty ammunition box which was destroyed on spot.

A case under FIR number has been registered at Chatroo.

“This is a major milestone achieved by District Police and RR unit and is a serious setback to anti-national elements,” the spokesman here said. (Agencies)
