In a press conference here today Sham Lal Basson, president All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and others said that Rs. 5 lakh ex-gratia given to the families of the deceased persons is not sufficient and it should be hiked at par with similar cases of J&K.
They said that they visited homes of the slain Surinder Kumar and Kamal Kishore at Falyana in Rajouri and also met SSP Rajouri, Mohd. Aslam who informed that an SIT has been constituted under the directions of DGP to probe the killings.
The visiting team expressed full faith in working of the SIT and hoped that justice will be delivered to the victim families.
Basson told reporters that they also met Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and apprised him about the conditions of the families of deceased persons and the DC assured that District Administration and Army will help the victim families as per assurance give by the Army.
“We have full faith in Army and we hope that commitment made by representatives of Army in presence of District Administration will be fulfilled soon because bread earners of both families have been killed and there is none to feed them,” Basson further said.
