RAJOURI, Apr 26: A girl hailing from Himachal Pradesh, was taken into custody along with a local youth belonging to other community from Chhaprian area of Jawahar Nagar.
Though police tried to downplay the matter but it was learnt that girl hailed from Hamirpur in Himachal. The youth identified as Mohd Altaf of Chaprian is driver by profession. He was working in the same area and developed relations with the girl. The police said they have not married and even could not produce any document when asked. They have been detained in the police station and police was trying to contact parents of the girl and Himachal Police. A police version later also came that girl had come to attend marriage function at youth’s house.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas when contacted said that on a specific complaint, both were detained and placed under questioning. The girl’s parents have been informed and matter was also brought to the notice of Himachal Police. Further investigation was in progress.
