Himalaya gun factory running on legal documents: Owner

JAMMU, Feb 10: Proprietor, Himalaya Arms Company, Gangyal and contesting candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency Vinay Verma today alleged that some vested interest tried to defame him by terming his Himalaya Gun Factory at Gangyal as illegal.
Talking to reporters here today he said that the Court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu has acquitted him and his father in the same case.
He said that some vested interests tried to defame him and also tried to ruin his business by saying that his Gun Factory is running on forged documents. “This all was done to defame me and ruin my business’’, he added.
“My gun factory was closed since October 1,2013 by the District Magistrate rendering me and more than 200 workers in penury and losses worth lakhs. A case was also registered in this regard at police station Gangyal”, he said.
“Court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu has however acquitted me and my father Roshan Lal, son of late Sunder Dass Verma, resident of Bakshi Nagar’’, he added.
He, while quoting the judgment said Principal Sessions Judge Kartar Singh in his order observed that not even a single ingredient of Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 RPC has been proved by the prosecution.
He alleged that some influential persons and vested interests are behind this conspiracy and he was facing a threat to his life through their hands. He appealed the Government to provide him security.
