RAMGARH, Apr 15: Shaheed Parivar Fund of Hind Samachar and Punjab Kesari Group today distributed relief among border dwellers during a simple but impressive function held at Chamblyal in Ramgarh sector.
The distribution camp was organized by District Development Council (DDC) member, Sarabjit Singh Johal and kitchen kits comprising besides others wheat flour and rice were distributed among 300 needy families on the occasion.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Dr D K Manyal, general secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K, Ex MLC and former Minister, Vikram Randhawa and Varinder Sharma, Incharge Shaheed Parivar Fund were also present.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion, DDC member, Sarabjit Singh Johal informed about the aim behind holding the distribution camp. He said that the main patron behind providing relief material for border dwellers is Padma Shri Vijay Chopra.
Complimenting the Shaheed Parivar Fund management for sending relief material for the past more than 22 years, Dr D K Manyal, general secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K said that in the present scenario, philanthropy has become the need of the hour and noble and blessed people have always come forward to extend support to the needy people.
Recalling the philanthropy displayed by the great journalist Lala Jagat Narayan during his lifetime, Dr Manyal also paid glowing tributes to him and said that his immense contribution in the field of journalism would be remembered for ages to come. He also complimented Padma Shri Vijay Chopra for upholding the philanthropic and charitable legacy to serve the needy people in the society.
DDC Sarabjit Singh Johal, in his address, informed that today 668th truck of relief material was received for the border dwellers. He said that this relief will be distributed among 300 families of Chamblyal and its adjoining areas.
DDC Member Johal felicitated Preetika Sharma on her first birthday who was also present on the occasion. Pertinent to mention here that grandfather of Preetika Sharma has contributed relief for the welfare of martyrs’ families.
BDC Chairman Darshan Choudhary, Harvinder Singh-district general secretary BJP and Hazara Singh were also present.
