JAMMU, Dec 14: Viraj Kala Kendra Jammu released Hindi book ‘Taandav’- a collection of five stage plays, penned down by Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, here today.
Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Mona Singh was chief guest, while President Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, Prof Lalit Magotra president over the function and Rakesh Gandral, Commissioner of Income Tax and Ranjeet Kour, State Taxation Officer were the guests of honour on the occasion.
The short clipping of three plays from the book were presented in which seasoned artists Madan Rangeela and Santosh Sangra participated who were equally supported by energetic and dedicated artists Renu Sharma, Vipin Gupta, Tarun Charak, Amit Bhalla, Bindia and Rishab Manhas.
Paper on the book was read by Koshika Sharma, Lecturer MAM College who prepared the paper with the most critical analysis of the book.
The chief guest in her speech blessed the writer with success in future in the field of literature. She praised the book for its content, language and continuous flow of dialogues with special emphasis on folk culture and cuisines. The use of words like Kalarian, Baladian, Khamire etc made the writing interesting. She praised Jammu city for its beauty, for its local talent in the field of art, culture and languages. She urged the need of writing books for the development of the mental health of society.
Prof Lalit Magotra said that stage play is the best method to teach any lesson as compared to others methods. Literature is the necessity of the time for every youth whether he is a science student or commerce student because it teaches us how to respect humanity.
Madam Ranjeet Kour also praised the book and urged the need for performance of stage plays in schools and colleges. The writer Rajneesh Gupta also shared his experience and struggle for writing the book. He said plays on periodic themes require a vast research which gave him much pleasure and satisfaction, while Kusam Tickoo anchored the whole programme gracefully.
Prominent people including Prof Rajni Bala, HoD Hindi Department, Chaman Arora, Inderjit Kesar, Vijaya Thakur, Deepak Kumar, Baljit Singh Raina, Lalita Tapasvi, Janak Khajuria and Rekha Sharma were present during the event.
