‘Hindi Diwas’ celebrated with fervour, zeal

JAMMU, Sept 14: Hindi Diwas was celebrated with great fervour and zeal.
To celebrate Hindi Diwas, a Hindi Saptah was celebrated at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur Bantalab. Slogan writing competition, lectures on Hindi pronunciation and phonetics, Hindi poem recitation, rangoli making, slogan and Hindi writing competition were organized during Hindi Saptah.
On the valedictory function, AK Raina, general secretary, HESK was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Principal Prof GL Koul, faculty members and students.
Government Higher Secondary School, Chiralla celebrated Hindi divas with great fervour and gaiety. Acting Principal, Shamim Ahmed was the chief gust, while Master Omkar Singh presided over. A debate competition was organized in which Robin Singh and Anchal Singh shared the first prize whereas Komal bagged second prize and third prize was shared by Irfan and Ankush. Master Rajinder Singh enthralled the audience by reciting attractive poem, depicting the evil effects of smoking and drinking.
A special assembly was organized to mark Hindi Diwas in Lawrence Public School, Sidhra, in which students from Panjtirthi and Sidhra branches participated. The event started with a special prayer and prayer songs in Hindi. During the programme, students highlighted the importance of the national language by means of talk show, followed by speeches and small skit ‘Maatraon ki Ladai’. NR Bhardwaj, retd Principal, Government College Sampla, Rohtak, Academics Coordinator Meenakshi Jamwal and senior Hindi Teacher Rakhi Chauhan encouraged students to enhance their vocabulary and language to evolve good and effective public speaking skills.
Hindi Diwas was celebrated at May Fair School, Janipur. On the occasion, Abhey Basur, Director of the school and Principal Ranjeet Kour highlighted the importance of Hindi language. A written test was conducted, in which Manat Blouria, Keshav Khanna, Pari Gupta, Pallavi Katoch, Mannat Rana, Jagrati Rathore, Muskan, Vineet Verma, Vanshika Dogra and Aryan Dogra emerged winners.
Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm. Prabjot Kour apprised the students about the importance of Hindi Diwas. Students participated in various activities including slogan writing, poem reciting, kavya goshti, samooh gaan, story telling and dohas of Kabir Das. Principal Rohini Aima encouraged the students to learn and use the language in its correct form.
Headquarters Northern Command celebrated Hindi Diwas. Various competitions were organized including Hindi drafting and typing through computers. On the occasion, Brigadier SS Joon, BGS (Trg) presented prizes to the winners. Colonel Satyaveer Singh, Colonel (Edn) and Chairman, Official Language Committee, HQ Northern Command impressed upon the importance of the official language in day-to-day work. DS Rauthan, Assistant Director (OL), and Secretary Official Language Implementation Committee HQ Northern Command were also present.
Hindi Diwas was celebrated at BSF Frontier Headquarters, Paloura with fervour. On the occasion, SS Tomar, IG Jammu Frontiers was the chief guest, while BSF officials were also present. Various competitions were organized on the occasion and the winners were awarded. SS Tomar in his speech highlighted the importance of the Hindi language.
