JAMMU, Sept 14: Different education institutions celebrated “Hindi Diwas” by organising various programmes on different themes across Jammu province, here today.
Central Sanskrit University concluded a fortnight program, organised to celebrate Hindi Diwas at Vani Vilas Auditorium, Shri Ranbir Campus. The program started with the lighting of the lamp and Vedic invocation in the veneration of Maa Saraswati. Campus Director Prof. Madan Mohan Jha presided over the program. The president of Rajbhasha Prakoshth in the University and the convener of the program, Prof. Sharat Chandra Sharma were also present.
The chief guest of the program, Professor Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir State, spoke about the global development and promotion of Hindi language, while the guest of honour of the program Dr. Shashank Shukla of the Department of Hindi, Central University of Jammu, who presented his key-note address on the subject of the gradual development of Hindi and Hindi speaking people.
IIM Jammu organized “Hindi Diwas” in the Campus to mark the adaptation of Hindi as one of the official languages by the Constituent Assembly on September 14, 1949. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries present on the dais, wherein Kewal Kumar Kewal (Dogri and Hindi Poet), Yashpaul Nirmal (Dogri and Hindi Writer), Prof Raj Kumar (Hindi Poet), Sheikh Mohammed Kalyan Ji (Hindi Litterateur), Sanjeev Bashim (Hindi Poet) were among the special guests and recited their poetry. The event was presided over by Prof. BS Sahay, Director IIM Jammu.
A program was organized by the Hindi Department of Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu on the occasion under the guidance of Professor Shabir Ahmed, Head of Department of Hindi. The Principal of the College presided over the program. Professor (Dr) Parameshwari Sharma was the chief guest of the program. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Shabir Ahmed duly welcomed all the Hindi lovers present there.
Government College of Education, Jammu organized slogan writing competition on the occasion. Prof Aekta Gupta, Principal made everyone aware about the importance of the Hindi Language and its widespread coverage in daily life ranging from Indian films to television. She asserted that Hindi is the most widespread used and loved language by the masses.
Prof Seema Kumari of Hindi Department explained the journey of the origin of the Hindi Language and its usage in Vedic and Sanskrit era. First prize was bagged by Sakshi Sharma whereas second prize and third prize were given to Pooja Devi and Nisha Sharma.
GDC Sunderbani observed the Day under the guidance of College Principal Prof Minnie Sharma with great fervour and enthusiasm by organising “Kavya Goshthi”. The function starts with the inaugural speech of Prof. Rabinder Kumar, HoD Hindi wherein a large number of students participated in the event and recited the poetry.
The Diwas was celebrated by the Cultural Committee of GDC Bishnah in collaboration with the Department of Hindi under the guidance of College Principal, Dr Manohar Lal. In the programme, six students recited their poems by highlighting the importance of Hindi.
GDC Dudu Basantgarh organized College level quiz competition on the theme “Ekasavi Shtavadi Mein Hindi Ka Mahatav”, wherein participants were divided into three teams, which comprising of two participants. The College Principal lauded the efforts of the participants and asked them to participate more and more in such competitions.
The Diwas was also celebrated at Govt. Degree College Marh, in lieu of Shikshit Bharat Abhiyan under the guidance and supervision of College Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul by holding an online slogan writing competition on the theme.
A poetry recitation competition on Hindi Diwas was organised by the Hindi Department of GDC Mahanpur under the supervision of College Principal, Dr Sangeeta Sudan. The programme commenced with the lighting of traditional lamps by the College Principal in presence of faculty members. The event was organised by Dr Sapna Devi, HoD Hindi.
State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) organised multiple programs to mark the Diwas and emphasized the importance of learning more languages in order to communicate with a wider audience. Dr Shabnam said the language provides the strongest connection to other cultures and fosters love for their customs, beliefs, arts, and history, besides the members of the SCERT also arranged a panel discussion and talked about the importance of learning Hindi without associating it with a particular faith.
Shemford Futuristic School conducted an inter-house nukkad natak competition to make Shemstars discover the drama artist in themselves. The activity offered an effective platform to display art, creativity, wittiness and convey a strong social message through a powerful play to be presented in our mother tongue Hindi. The event was judged by RJ Chaitanya Sambyal and RJ Rohit Sharma from 98.3 Radio Mirchi along with School’s Academic Director, Vijay Puri, Vice Principal and others.
The Hindi Diwas was celebrated with a great zest and zeal by the students and teachers of The Shri Ram Universal School Jammu by holding a special assembly to mark the significance of Hindi in our lives. The event was organized in the Amphi-Theatre of the School, wherein the comparison of the event was done by Chaitanya and Tanish. The students presented inspirational poems, speeches and slogans during the event.
The Diwas was also celebrated in Government Higher Secondary School Chirala with great enthusiasm by organising a symposium wherein students from different classes participated. Principal Hem Raj Chalotra witnessed the function as a chief guest and encouraged the students to participate in such an event.
A Zonal level essay competition was held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Pul Tawi, wherein students of various Schools participated wherein Govt Higher School Girls showed its talent in the competition. Geetu Bangotra, Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar congratulated the winners.
Army celebrated the Hindi Diwas along with school children at Capt Gandharb Singh Manhas Army School in Pargwal Sector of Akhnoor, wherein 45 students and five teachers of Govt Higher Secondary School Pargwal and Govt Middle School Sajwal participated and recited their poems.
