SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Hindi Kashmiri Sangam, under the leadership of its president Prof Beena Budki, organized the 2nd Collective Yagnopaveet ceremony at the sacred site of Kheer Bhavani, Tulmulla in Ganderbal district.
The three-day event that concluded today saw the participation of the Kashmiri Pandit community, aiming to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural and spiritual heritage through the Yagnopaveet (sacred thread) ceremony.
The event featured the Yagnopaveet initiation for three young Kashmiri Pandit boys. This significant rite of passage marks the boys’ formal entry into the spiritual and educational journey of life, as they take on new responsibilities and values according to tradition. The boys, dressed in traditional attire, received blessings from the community elders, symbolizing their acceptance into the fold of the spiritual lineage.
Rohini Vaishnavi, founder of The Writing Experts and Amarnath Vaishnavi Foundation, graced the occasion as chief guest and delivered the first Abeed (ritualistic prayer). Rekha Bhargav, a District Judge, led the Maas Abeed (mass prayer), with numerous devotees participating to invoke blessings of unity and harmony.
In addition to the Yagnopaveet ceremonies, special prayers were conducted for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir. The collective prayers reflected the deep desire of the community for stability and progress in the region, emphasizing their hopes for a harmonious and prosperous future.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Beena Budki highlighted the significance of such gatherings in fostering unity and reinforcing the community’s shared values.
