Hindi short film on exodus “Nishkasan Ek Dard Bari Dastaan” screened

JAMMU, Feb 1: Athrot Cultural Foundation held screening of its short film Nishkasan Ek Dard Bari Dastaan today as it crossed land mark of 100K viewers in just 10 days. The film was watched by Executive Body members and Advisory Board members and other dignitaries.
It may be recalled that this film was virtually released from Melbourne Australia through Lotus World Media & Entertainment and RhingeKashmir in India on January 19 and since then it has been receiving overwhelming response globally on Youtube and other platforms. It has almost reached more than 500k people.
The film has been written by Kanwal Peshin, directed by Pradeep Pandita, while Virji Sumbly was Set Designer. Music of the film has been given by Dr Kuldeep Swedeshi and produced by Fillup Productions, Athrot and LotusWorld Media & Entertainment. Film was released in the presence of Sarah Louise “Malini” is an Australian Kashmir Shaivite. She is researcher and writes on Yoga, dharma and eco- social justice. Ashutosh Raina, who is president of Kashmiri Pandit Australia and Founding Director of KP PRO (Knowledge Partners) a software company in Brisbane and Shivani Nehru, who is president of Kashmiri Pandits Cultural Association, Melbourne, Victoria were also present on the occasion.
Today’s programme started with inauguration by Board of Directors RK Pandita and Surasoti Nath and screening was started by Abhimqnyu Navun and Vansh Pandita a brief introduction was given by Kanwal Peshin writer of the film.
This short film story is based on real sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits prior to 19th Jan 1990 a Pandit family is terrorised by terrorists whose daughter is abducted and brutally cut into pieces on a saw. The story is being narrated to a youngster by her mother after he asks what is 19th January why it is called holocaust day and the artists who have played lead roles in this short film are Meenal Peer, Ranjana Mian, Arvin Tickoo, Kanwal Peshin, Ramesh Sahil, Akul Mian, Meenu Gupta Cinematographer, Ajit Singh. RK Pandita, Abhimanyu and Pardeep heading Athrot complimented audiences for overwhelming response and assured to come up with more such short films to bring KPs plight to world. The screening was arranged maintaining COVID protocols.
