UDHAMPUR, Mar 31: District Administration Udhampur organized street play at various places of the District Udhampur i.e. Sudhmahadev, Latti, Basantgarh, Ram Nagar, Ghordi Mansar Lake and Garh Samna Banj, which was staged by Sangam Theatre Group Reasi.
At Basant Garh, Saloni Rai, District Development Commissioner Udhampur was the chief guest while Mohd Rafiq Jaral, SDM Ramnagar, presided over the function. SDM Basant Garh Wahid-ul-Rehman and Joginder Singh, SSP Udhampur, were the special guests.
At Sudhmahadev, Pankaj Singh Bahu, Tehsildar Chenani and Davinder Singh, CEO PDA along with other officers were present.
The play Matdaan was based on election promotion characters stressing for more and more participation of people in election and cost the vote properly in free, fair and ethical manner. The play also depicts right of the voter and how to elect the right candidate.
The play was written and directed by M Akram Khan. This was the first of its production staged in this part of the region and was highly appreciated by the people of these areas.
Those who acted in different roles, included Varun Khajuria, Raja Aamir Khan, Priya Kumari, Anamika Devi, Neha Devi, Anuradha Devi, Nedhi Thakur, M Jackson and M Akram Khan. Anil Kumar was coordinator of the production.
The chief guest appreciated the efforts made by organizers and thanked the participants, especially organizing groups that staged such a wonderful street play. District Administration, officers, local public, students and teachers witnessed the play and appreciated.
The same play shall be staged at, Tikri, Neeli Nallah, Kambal Danga and Gole Market Udhampur on 1st April 2024.
