JAMMU, Mar 17: A book release function was organized here today by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) during which the book ‘Rehiman Dhaga Prem Ka’ which is Hindi translation version of a book by Khalid Hussain was released and it was translated from Punjabi to Hindi by Dr. Gurpreet Kour.
Sohail Qazmi, senior journalist, was chief guest on this occasion whereas well known writer Ashok Angurana presided over the programme.
Those present on the dais were Harvinder Kour, Secretary J&KAACL, Shailender Singh, SSP (Railway), special guest and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur.
A number of intellectuals, writers and representatives of various organizations were also present in the programme.
Welcome address was delivered by Harvinder Kour while a research paper was presented by Ashutosh Prashar, elaborating on the contents and qualitative merits of the released book.
Ashok Angurana, Sohail Kazmi and Shailendra Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Renowned personalities like Swamy Anternirav, Surinder Neer, Mohd. Aslam Qureshi, Brij Nath, Ravinder Koul, Dr. Shah Nawazh and Dr. Gurpreet Kour were also present on this occasion.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Raj Kumar Behrupia.
Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza was Incharge of the programme. Dr. Javaid Rahi, Divisional Head of JKAACL extended the vote of thanks.
