JAMMU, Feb 11: Seeking support of all pro-Jammu groups, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha held a meeting here today and dwelt at length several sensitive issues that are confronting people of Jammu.
The issues deliberated in the meeting, included need for abrogation of Article 370, deportation of Rohingyas/Bangladeshis and identifying the people responsible for illegal entry of foreign nationals into the territory of Jammu and providing them habitation. Chetan Sharma, State convener of the party had a series of meetings with the party high command at Delhi during the last three days and made clear the stand of the party that the rights of the people of Jammu will be protected at all costs.
The meet also expressed serious concern over the recent incident of alleged insult of National Anthem at a mall in Jammu by two Kashmiri youth, who were later arrested by Police. The meet decided that the Hindu Mahasabha convener would take up the matter with the Police authorities to investigate the matter and take it to logical conclusion. Another very significant observation by one of the participant was regarding adding Urdu as a subject in schools in Summer Zone. Of late, the people of Jammu have been deceived by depriving them from learning the State’s official language.
The meet opined that the coalition partner Bhartiya Janata Party should initiate a process to ensure that either Urdu is made compulsory in Schools in Jammu or Hindi is also included as official language. Wider consequences of depriving people of Jammu from learning Urdu can be explored in their failure to study the official documents particularly those relating to Revenue Department, said Chetan Sharma.
Convener appealed all Jammu based political, social and religious groups to come on a common platform for curing the ailing system and strengthen the voice of Jammu. Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has an agenda to take all measures to ensure that there is no supremacy of Kashmir over Jammu, he added.
