Hira Lal Abrol conferred Gandhi Seva Puruskar

JAMMU, Oct 23: Renowned social worker, Hiral Lal Abrol has been conferred ‘Mahatma Gandhi Seva Puruskar-2020’.
A handout stated that the executive committee of Gandhi Global Family of J&K UT announced annual awards and the selfless social services and outstanding contributions of Hira Lal Abrol towards humanity were recognized.
Abrol provided relief to the needy families and sanitized various residential and commercial locations along with religious places in Jammu during COVID-19 pandemic.
He also distributed sanitizers, hand gloves, masks and COVID awareness pamphlets to the public.
“Abrol’s services were recognized on 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the honour was presented to him while celebrating 91st birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan, Dr. Nirmala Deshpande at Jammu,” the handout stated.
Hira Lal Abrol has been an active social worker for the last 40 years as Chairman Mahavir Society for Education & Research, Healthy India Stronger India and MV International School.
He has been organizing free medical camps, spreading awareness about importance of education, health, skill development to the needy people and has been donating books to the children in slums and orphanages.
