KATHUA, Dec 16: Hiranagar Police has recovered a minor girl who was kidnapped by one driver Shabu , S/o Naseeb Chand of Sonkhal in Hiranagar tehsil and kept in solitary confinement at his residence.
Police said a minor girl of class 11th of village Nooni was kidnapped by Shabu of adjoining hamlet of Sonkhal on December 14.
The parents of girl lodged a complaint in Police Station Hiranagar on December 15 and the Police team led by I O Anand Dutta swung into action and launched a manhunt to trace the girl.
Police said to gain the confidence of police and people Shabu continued to drive the matador and ferry passengers from one station to another. But on the tip off the Police team raided his residence in village Sonkhal and recovered the girl from a room there where her kidnapper had kept her.
The Hiranagar Police has registered a case under Section 363 RPC and arrested the kidnapper also. The police also got the medical examination of the girl conducted at District Hospital Kathua.
