Hirdesh reviews development works in Rajouri

JAMMU, July 27: Commissioner SecretaryPDD, Hirdesh Kumar, today took a comprehensive review of the developmental activities being carried out in this border district, here at a meeting convened with the district officers.
District Development Commissioner, Mohammad AijazAsad gave a detailed power point presentation about various on-going projects in the district.
The meeting was attended SSP Yougal Manhas, CPO, ADC Rajouri, Sher Singh, ADC Nowshera Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Chief Engineer EM&RE, Chief Engineer System and operations, Chief Engineer Projects wing, SE PWD, SE PHE and SE I&FC  and other district and sectoral officers.
The Commissioner Secretary took a thorough review of the projects/ schemes of different departments implemented in the district with a major emphasis on the languishing Projects, status of power supply in the district, provision of drinking water facilities, urban development, Agriculture, Horticulture and other sectors.
The meeting was told that against the revised outlay of Rs 244.52 crore for the year 2018-19 an expenditure of Rs 239.00 crorehas been realised.  He also informed that the proposed allocation for the year 2019-20 has been pegged at Rs 198.93 crore.
It was informed that out of 244 languishing projects, 57 stands completed, while remaining are under different phases of execution.  It was further informed that an amount of Rs 663.16 crore have been required for the completion of the languishing Projects.
The Secretary also reviewed the status of mega projects including construction of Government Medical College building, up-gradation of SDH Nowshera, construction of 50 bedded additional block at SDH Sunderbani, construction of CHC Teryath building, construction of GNM school at Rajouri, up-gradation of sports complex Rajouri, construction of indoor hall at Kotranka.
He also reviewed the progress on the GDC Sunderbani, Kalakote, progress on Ans canal and other projects which hold greater significance in terms of connectivity like roads and bridges. He specifically discussed the issues related to the Rajouri- Thanamandi road and directed the concerned to start the double laning work.
While reviewing PHE projects, the meeting was   informed that   89 schemes are in progress which is mostly water supply schemes. The SE PHE informed that water conservation and water security plan has been prepared and the DPR for hundred percent coverage of habitation with piped water connection has been formulated.
About the road connectivity status, it was informed that 1697.69 km of road is under R&B 1827.09 km under PMGSY and 621 km under BRO.
The Commissioner Secretary also reviewed the progress on the construction of border bunkers being executed by the RDD and PWD. It was informed that out of 1892 under execution by RDD, 737 stands completed, while out of 1249 under execution by PWD, 336 stands completed.
The Commissioner Secretary sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for strengthening the transformer bank and asked the concerned engineers to complete the work on the Siot grid station by September and also start the charging of 2nd circuit bod barn SiotKalakote grid station.
