UDHAMPUR, June 23: More than 50,000 devotees/ Visitors including men, women and children of all faith witnessed 3- day Historic Sudhmahadev Mela in Sub Division Chenani of district Udhampur which concluded with traditional fervour and gaiety here today.
During the three days of the mela over 50,000 devotees/Visitors paid obeisance before the abode of Lord Shiva in the Sudh Mahadev temple after taking bath in the sin destroying springs (Pap Nashni Bowli) situated just at the entrance of the temple.
During the mela, the folk artist including students of educational institutions of the areas turned up in large numbers to sing folk songs and dances highlighting various aspects of civilization with special reference to Lord Shiva on first two days.
Number of temporary sweet shops, toy shops and other eatable corners by the locals as well as outside vendors were the main attraction for the general public visiting the mela site.
Mela Officer, Tehsildar Chenani Pankaj Singh Bhau remained at the mela site during the three days to manage arrangements for the comfortable pilgrimage to the shrine.
For the successful culmination of the three-day mela, the district administration Udhampur had made elaborated arrangements of security, drinking water and power supply, medicare, traffic regulation, additional bus services and stock of commodities etc.
