‘History Mehakma with Juhie’ Podcast celebrates 1st anniversary

JAMMU, Oct 16: History Mehakma with Juhie (HMwJ), a podcast series on Youtube Channel ‘Juhie Mohan’, celebrated its 1st anniversary at Shri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School by initiating a panel discussion titled ‘Preserving Pride: Addressing the Missing Linkages Between the Past and Future.’
The discussion brought together individuals from diverse fields working to preserve Jammu’s heritage, including heritage professionals, policymakers and practitioners.
The panelists observed that in the age of globalisation and technological advancement, a synthetic homogeneous macro-culture has emerged, leading to the erosion of heritage. They emphasized the urgent need for identification, documentation and preservation of heritage.
The panel delved into the linkages that have been lost in current heritage issues and concluded that preserving heritage for posterity is crucial. Involving over 100 students in the discussion, the event aimed to engage the future caretakers of heritage.
Prominent panelists were Suresh Sharma, Retd. Judge and Convenor SPIC MACAY, J&K Chapter; Abhishek Sharma, DC Rajouri; Indu Kanwal Chib, Chairperson JKSSB; S.M Sahni, Convenor INTACH Jammu Chapter; Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Spl. Secy and Kirpal Singh, Art Conservation expert.
Prominent guests included Arvind Kotwal, Member INTACH; Tilak Raj Sharma, Member INTACH; Javed Rahi, Secy Kala Kendra; Sunny Dua, Journalist and Heritage Photographer; Maansi Gupta, Designer and Calico Proponent; Sars Bharti, Folk Artist and Dr. Parul Jasrotia, Travel Entrepreneur.
Principal SRML School, Dr Satyabhushan Raina was also present on the occasion.
Dr. Tanisha Pallan Sharma from iConcept Apple Authorized Reseller also graced the occasion.
The programme was coordinated by HMwJ Host Dr Juhie Mohan and moderated by co-host Dr. Mrinalini Atrey.
