Hit and run case: HC finds discrepancy in blood sample of Salman Khan

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court has raised doubts over test of actor Salman Khan blood samples in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
It found discrepancy in total quantity of blood extracted and analysed. For the second day today, Justice A R Joshi continued to dictate the judgement in the court on Salman Khan’s appeal challenging the 5-year sentence imposed on him by a Mumbai sessions court.
The High Court questioned the manner yesterday, in which the blood samples of Salman Khan were collected and analysed in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving the actor, observing that requisite and necessary care was not taken while taking the blood sample.
While the blood sample was taken on September 28, it was sent to the chemical analyst?s office on September 30, as the office was shut for the weekend.
It was argued by the defence that a special message could have been sent to the office to take the sample. It is unfortunate that office of chemical analyst remained close for accepting urgent sample in case of emergency, said Justice Joshi. (UNI)
