JAMMU, Jan 14: Police in Domana area here have solved a hit-and-run case that took place on January 3, 2024, on Muthi road.
A police official said that the incident involved a motorcyclist, Abhineet Revo, who was tragically killed after being struck by an unknown vehicle.
Revo, a resident of Kamleshwar Colony in Akhnoor, died on-the-spot and his body was later taken to GMC by local residents, he said.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, said the police official.
According to him, a case FIR number 03/2025 under the relevant sections of the law was filed at Police Station Domana and a detailed investigation was launched.
During investigation, he said, police reviewed CCTV footage and used advanced technology to track down the accused persons.
The driver, Saleem Ahmed, a resident of Sanasar in Ramban, currently living in Patoli Brahamana, Jammu was arrested and his vehicle, a tipper (JK02BH-9527) was seized, he said.
The investigation is still ongoing, added the police official.
