Hit and run case solved in Kulgam, accused arrested

Srinagar, June 5: Police today said to have solved a hit and run case while also arresting one accused person in Kulgam.
A police spokesperson said that the Police Station Kulgam received information that a motorcycle driven by one person namely Aaqib Ahmad Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Gulzarabad DH Pora was hit by an unknown vehicle near village Shouch Kulgam.
“The body of the injured person was lying on the road in an unconscious state. The injured person was immediately shifted by Kulgam police to hospital for treatment of his injuries,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 118/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, police said, a special investigation team led by SHO Kulgam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kulgam was constituted. With the aid of technical evidence & human inputs, the accused driver was traced & subsequently.
“He has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Ahad Dar resident of Mohammadpora Kulgam. A vehicle bearing registration number JK18C-1830 (Load carrier) has also been seized,” police said
He has been shifted to a police station where he remains in custody. Further investigation of the case is in progress. It is pertinent to mention that the injured person is still under medical observation at Bones and Joint Hospital Srinagar.
