Hit-and-run case solved in Pouni Chak area

JAMMU, Nov 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) claimed to have solved a hit-and-run case reported in the Pouni Chak area.
A police official stated that on November 14, 2024, information was received at the Police Post Pouni Chak regarding a hit-and-run incident reported from the Bohri area near the ANI showroom.
In this incident, he said, a pedestrian, Shilpy Gupta, wife of Rohit Gupta from Durga Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu, was struck by a rashly driven biker and sustained multiple injuries.
Acting on this, an FIR under the relevant sections of the law was registered at the concerned police station, he said, adding that accordingly a team from the Police Post Pouni Chak, led by the Incharge, used human and technical intelligence to identify and arrest the accused, Alok Kumar (22) of Ladore, Ward Number 5, tehsil Marh, district Jammu.
The police have also seized the bike involved in the commission of the offence and have started further investigations into the matter.
