JAMMU, Jan 14: Bus Stand Police solved a hit and run case within 24 hours with the arrest of accused motorcyclist.
As per police sources, yesterday an information was received at Police Station Bus Stand from reliable sources that a pedestrian namely Shakuntla Sharma, a resident of Bhawani Nagar Janipur was hit by a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AP-1067 from behind. The rider fled away from spot along with vehicle.
Acting over the information, a case under FIR Number 3/21 under Sections 279 and 337 IPC was registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector JJ Bhagat after hectic efforts arrested the accused rider of the vehicle, who was identified as Rajat Kumar, a resident of Sikanderpur tehsil Bishnah district Jammu. On his disclosure, vehicle involved in the accident was also recovered and seized.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
